After the final battle with A-Laws and the Innovators, the heavily damaged Cherudim was rebuilt as the Cherudim Gundam SAGA and assigned to the support team, Fereshte. There was also an alternate configuration of the Cherudim known as the GN-006/SA Cherudim Gundam SAGA that was designed for base infiltration mission. The Cherudim was later upgraded into the GN-006GNHW/R Cherudim Gundam GNHW/R for the final battle with the A-Laws and the Innovators. Cherudim and the other new Gundams deployed by Celestial Being in AD 2312 were designed with the use of Trans-Am System in mind, as such, the deterioration in performance after using the system would not be as severe as their predecessors'. This system also enabled the Cherudim to use the Holoscreen for ultra-precision shooting. When required, the Cherudim could activate Trans-Am System to enhance its thrust and defensive capabilities, as well as increase its output by three-fold for a limited time. Lastly, four GN Missile Pods were built into Cherudim's front waist armor, enabling it to fire up to eight GN Missiles. A long-range rifle called the GN Sniper Rifle II served as Cherudim's primary weapon, it featured improved accuracy and could be operated while in a folded state, making it easy to wield in medium and close-range combat. In terms of melee combat, all melee combat weaponry were omitted from Cherudim following an analysis of Dynames's operating data, and instead, the pair of close-range use GN Beam Pistol IIs were designed to parry enemy's GN Beam Saber. Furthermore, they were equipped with built-in beam guns for offense, making them multi-purpose equipment. Capable of defending against attacks from any directions, these GN Shield Bits could also combine to form large shields, and were used to protect Cherudim's allies as well. The Cherudim was equipped with nine GN Shield Bits as its primary defensive armament. This location also enabled more efficient supply of GN Particles to the wireless, remote-controlled weapons known as GN Shield Bits. This was done in consideration of the subtle effect on space caused by the topological defect within the GN Drive. Another unique characteristic of the Cherudim was the location of its GN Drive instead of being housed in the chest like the third generation Gundams, such as the Dynames, the Cherudim's GN Drive was installed behind its waist. Furthermore, the heel parts of Cherudim's feet could tilt downward and be used with the retractable claws in the soles to anchor the Gundam to the ground, improving the mobile suit's stability when shooting. This design was because the Gundams were capable of flight due to the use of GN Particles. Unlike most mobile suits, the Cherudim's feet were designed for stability during shooting, rather than for walking. Overhanging armor were added to the Cherudim's chest to protect its chest vents, and they also served to insulate the surrounding of the mobile suit's sensors from the heat and particles emitted by these vents. GN Particles could interfere with radar and radio waves, but when deployed around a mobile suit at a high concentration, they could also affect the machine's precision shooting, so dispersal of these particles might be halted during precision shooting. As with the Dynames, the Cherudim controls GN Particles through a pair of clavicle antennas, but these antennas were moved from the top of the torso to the left side of Cherudim's head, behind the head sensor unit, to avoid interference with the sensor. A precision shooting-use head sensor unit was built into the forehead, and to protect this sensor, a crystalline cover was fitted over it. The Cherudim's basic design focused on 'Precision Shooting', with special attention paid to the mobile suit's body layout so as to protect its sensor functions. The Cherudim was also able to use its Trans-Am System more effectively for shooting, and would not suffer as much from the system's drawbacks. Like the Dynames, the Cherudim's armament included weapons to handle combat in other ranges besides long-range, however major changes were made to its melee combat and defensive armament. Features inherited from the Dynames included a Sniper Mode for long-range shooting, a rifle-shaped shooting scope in the cockpit, and the use of an AI-equipped robot, Haro, to assist Lockon Stratos in operating the mobile suit. The Cherudim's attack power, shooting accuracy, and other basic performances had been enhanced compared to its predecessor. One of the new Gundams deployed by Celestial Being in AD 2312, the Cherudim Gundam was developed as the successor to the GN-002 Gundam Dynames and specialized in long-range shooting.
